2) There should be more laws on guns. if u have a severe disability u shouldn't be aloud to own one. If u have a bad criminal background u shouldn't be aloud to own .

This article is basically about a guy wanting to sell his last name. The highest bidder payed 45000 all because his mom is getting divorced and he dont want that name. he wants to take 10% of that money and give to charity.
If i could change my name it would be my first name. I'll keep my last name. I would change it to clayton because it was my great grandpas name.

If the US is becoming obese, so is the Army. They're dismissing troops and sending them home to drop a few pounds. I don't see how a person in the Army can actually gain weight. They should have to be and stay a certain weight to fight. It's probably not safe to have a fat person in the Army.

The Sissonville fire was a pretty crazy fire. I heard about it in Mr. Poling's class. He stopped what we were working on to show us the pictures. One of the pictures I looked at today was crazy. The highway was burnt and there was a sign that had turned white because the paint melted off of it.

So its someone sueing over a ban on woman in combat in wars? From most of the comments I read, it seems to just be most of them thinking they are to weakly built to do anything. In the army I would think you would have to go through a training course or something so they know your able to preform the actions needed, so I dont see why someone would ban women from combat if they are already there in the first place.

Debates assignment

1960 -- Kennedy vs. Nixon: First TV debate

Kennedy Really made an impression right off. He was forceful with what he said and also stood by his points. He had a good televised look about him. He always looked in the camera made eye contact and all that stuff. Nixon didn't look like he wanted to be up there instead he didn't have any comment.

1976 -- Carter vs. Ford: No Soviet domination of Eastern Europe?
Ford really didn't do all that well with this debate. He supported his points thoroughly and that was a good thing for him. He said there wasn't or never will be a Soviet domination in eastern Europe. There was a domination over there in Europe and the us went to war over it.

1980 -- Reagan vs. Carter: 'There you go again

Reagan took control after being humorous about the governor. In my opinion the governor was no match for president Reagan.  Reagan knew what he was doing and really took control of the debate.

1980 -- Reagan vs. Carter: 'Are you better off now than you were four years ago?'

Reagan also took control in this debate. He really was forceful with what he said about the economy. He left carter speechless when he asked him if he was better now than four years ago. Reagan really won this debate.

1984 -- Mondale vs. Reagan: 'I will not exploit ... my opponent's youth and inexperience'

Reagan got a little bit confused when Mondale asked the question. But when It was asked again Reagan nailed it and really showed his experience. Mondale knew he had probably lost the debate and election.

1988 -- Dukakis vs. George H.W. Bush: 'If your wife, Kitty Dukakis, were raped and murdered?'

This debate between Dukakis vs. George H.W. Bush was mainly on the Death Penalty. George Bush asked the question what if your wife was raped and murdered? Dukakis answer was i would like to kill that person but there are laws that he has to obey cause it'll be wrong. Bush won this debate.

1988 -- Bentsen vs. Quayle: 'You're no Jack Kennedy'

Bentsen really did well in this debate. Quayle kept saying he had as much experience as jack kennedy. Bentsen capitalized on his chance and said "Your no Jack Kennedy", Bentson won that debate and really won with a bang.

BR 10/15/12

BR 10/4/12

Mitt Romney set the tone in the first presidential debate. He was forceful more than Barrack Obama during the speeches. The first debate were missed oppurtunity for president Obama. Mitt Romneys body language played a big role in his victory over president obama in the first election.

Romney was energetic with just about every thing he said. He really dominated Obama in this first election. They strived through a 90 minute fierce debate.Obama was very defensive about everything. He slammed Romney about everything..

Compare
-Romney was the dominant canidate.
- Romney was the most enrgetic.
-Obama didnt do anything.
- Obama wasnt forceful or energetic.
- Romney won the first debate.

       Contrast
- Obama slammed romney over the medicare.
     - Obama was bashing romney
 - Obama had a few good points.
- Romney was made out to be the bad guy.
- Obama did fairly well in the debate.

Civics

Welfare

Pros.

1.       It can benefit the elderly

2.       It helps the mentally challenged

3.       People with physical injury can get it.

4.       A good temporary relief

5.       Good for basic necessities

6.       It assists basic day to day needs

7.       Can provide much needed food

8.       Also medical care

9.       It redistributes wealth throughout the population.

10.   Prevents foreclosure and

Cons.

1.       It gets into the hands of wrong people.

2.       People take advantage of it.

3.       People use it as a career

4.       It costs the government

5.       Is a good opportunity for fraud

6.       The wealthy people can get it.

7.       People cheat the system.

8.       Is sometimes not enough for the cost of living

9.       It can be a bad scam

10.   The government can’t control it.

I feel that welfare is wrong and should be only for the people that need it. They should have certain requirements for this. People just find a way to cheat out this system. It’s something  That is unacceptable. Welfare should be for the needy!

BR 10/1/12

This is intolerable and is not acceptable for the safety of our citizens. These screeners have to be able to pick these things up. If not there will be another 9/11 and im sure people do not wanna have to go through that again.

Pros and cons of carrying concealed weapons on college campuses.

Pros.

1.       I think they should be allowed for self-defense reasons.

2.       All girls should be allowed to have one they do not have the physical strength to fend off creeps.

3.       It’s a sense of safety.

4.       It allows people to go anywhere and not worry.

5.       Less likely to be attacked.

6.       Most people who carry a concealed weapon are law abiding citizens.

7.       It could help by keeping public shooting sprees down.

8.       The law can’t guarantee personal safety that’s another good reason.

9.       Most people won’t shoot unless they are being life threatened.

10.   It keeps the all-around safety up.

Cons.

1.       The concealed weapon permit can get into the hands of the wrong person.

2.       If one person gets easily threatened then it causes a shooting.

3.       A better chance for a school shooting.

4.       The law isn’t strict enough by allowing the mentally ill to carry a weapon.

5.       There are some crazy people out there that can carry them.

6.       There aren’t requirements needed to take the concealed weapon test.

7.       People can easily be in harm’s way.

8.       There could be an accident trying to get your weapon out of its concealed case.

9.       Drinking and drugs can escalate the chance of a shooting.

10.   Already have armed security.

I honestly think that the students should be allowed because it is for self-defense and for their own safety. The law just is not strict enough and the penalty is bad enough either. Nowadays for murder you can still get only 13 years out of it. People aren’t scared to do these things because they know the isn’t a big punishment. That’s all I got to say about all this .

Social issue letter

Dear, CNN

The social issue I have the biggest deal with is welfare. Welfare in my opinion is wrong and shouldn’t be allowed in the US! The government is to blame for this social issue. I hate walking around and seeing all the people on welfare. It is pretty bad when there is such a thing called a welfare line.

Welfare is pretty much where the government gives away free money. This affects a lot of people in a lot of ways. One way is that those people are just so lazy and do not work for a darn thing. Most of the people who are on welfare do not need it. They just want to lie around and do nothing.

Another way it affects me is that you get taxed way too much so that tax money all goes to the government. The money that goes to the government goes to welfare people. There are only a few occasions to when u should be eligible to get welfare. One way is if absolutely can’t work do to and injury or illness.

Welfares main cause is to help children and families in need. I agree with that but people take advantage of it and do not think twice about it. That is where the problem lies with welfare. To many ineligible people use something they don’t need.

That’s what I think of this whole welfare thing I hope u take my opinion in and really know how I feel. This whole thing is a big social issue in our economy today and needs more restrictions to this policy. They should take this into consideration and really try to fix this issue.

                                                Sincerely, Randy Rockwell

I agree with the retired military vets.! We should want this day an age to be healthy just in case there is a ba war again. if our boys and girls arent healthy they aint gonna do much in the wars. I think this point should be hit on hard today.

BR 9/25/12

The morning after pill is one of the best things we can use today. Most couples who do that dont want there parents to know, this allows young girls to take it with parental consent. This should be aloud in schools honestly it would help stop the pregnancy rate. This should be allowed every where!

BR 2 - I believe that this is a bad ban. If they are to do this i think they should let you get a permit on them under certain standards. If you have a good background check and you have your high school diploma.
BR 3 -Its a good act and i think it should still be in effect until the government finds a better plan

BR 9/5/12

I think it is a good idea to fingerprint visitors that come in the prison. It gives the officers to do a background check. If the background is bad then you wouldnt come in if it was u could visit freely.

BR 8/31/12

I think that this should be passed because it will show how old people really are. This proves that people are really of the voting age. Minorities would not be aloud to vote and it will force immigrants to get there US ID.

BR 8/30/12

There is no doubt that hurricane isaac was powerful, but this isn't the biggest storm they have ever seen. I believe they were well prepared for this one. Some residents are flooded but this isn't anything these people can't handle. I know it has to be a relief that the hurricane has been down graded to a tropical storm.

If he was doing it to get money it would be wrong. If he was wanting to start all over I honestly think he should be aloud. I believe he was doin it for the money so i also believe he should be punished for it.

My debate with Samuel Adams

I am a federalist and samuel adams is an anti-federalists. Samuel Adams was 65 years old and i am only 32. I was born as a british subject while samual adams was born the son of a brewer. I ,being a fedralist, am for the constitution while Sam Adams is against it. Sam Adams and I are technically enemies because we believe on different things.

"For my own part, I sincerely esteem it [the Constitution] a system which without the finger of God, never could have been suggested and agreed upon by such a diversity of interests." (http://www.seekfind.net/AlexanderHamilton.htm)

-What is your stance during the ratifying conventions? Who supports your view point?- I am for the constitution, and Thomas jefferson supports me.

-What are your views of this new plan of government? What are the benifits or dangers?- "Let the thirteen States, bound together in a strict and indisoluble Union, concur in erecting one great american system, superior to the control of all trans-Atlantic force or influence and able to dictate the terms of the connection between the old and the new world!" I think the warden is wrong because he jus wanted to pray in congregation. If he was a trustee i dont see the problem with that. He has every right to pray in congregation instead of bein forced to pray in his cell.

BR 8/27/12

I think that this was not fair at all to this girl. She made it clear that she was not going to be wearing black pants to her job. This is strictly against her religion and it was not appropriate for the manager to fire her. The manager knew the circumstances before hand if he/she didn't like it they should not have hired her!

I think its a good idea to post information about the campaign on twitter. It lets people stay in touch with how everything is going throughout the race. The only thing i don't agree with is the rumors people start about different people.

BR 8/23/12

I think that Rick Santorum has a right to stand up and be a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He shouldn't get criticized for that, he didn't have to put on the Greenbay Packers cheese head hat if he didn't want to. He has every right to cheer for the team he likes and not put on the hat of the team he don't like!

BR 8/22/12

I think that president Obama will get re-elected for another term but will not go on after that. If Mitt Romney wins I think that there will be a few more changes to this country. I'm not sure if it will be better or worse but I believe that it will have a drastic effect to this country..
